GORHAM — The University of Southern Maine women’s indoor track and field team won its 17th consecutive New England Alliance and Little East Conference titles at the day- long championships meet held Saturday at the Costello Sports Complex field house.
The Huskies beat out 10 other teams to take the Alliance title with 152.50 points., while USM easily outdistanced runner- up Rhode Island College, 200- 100, for the LEC title.
Former Brunswick High School standout Jasmine Boyle won the mile run in 5:16.56. Boyle also claimed third place in the 1,000, coming home in 3:09.73.
The Huskies’ 4 x 200- meter relay foursome of freshman Jhanel Potts, senior Liz O’Neal (Brunswick/Mt. Ararat), sophomore Penny Maimone and Dias finished second with a combined time of 1:45.29.
Qualified competitors will compete Saturday in the annual New England Division III Championships, being held at M.I.T.
