LYMAN — Richard H. Gagnon Sr., 71, of Lyman, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at home.

He was born in Thomaston, Georgia, on Feb. 27, 1945, a son of Albert and Annie Mae (Chandler) Gagnon. He graduated from Havlock High School, Class of 1966.

On Feb, 25, 1967, he married his wife, Phyllis Grant.

Richard went to Manpower to learn upholstery. He worked with his father at Gagnon’s Upholstery in Lyman. He specialized in caning chairs.

Richard’s hobby was making key chains. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by: his wife, Phyllis Jane Gagnon; two sons, Richard H. Gagnon Jr., and Daniel P. Gagnon and his wife, Dawn; and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Armond Gagnon, John Gagnon and Frank Gagnon, and six sisters, Donna Fay Perry, Christine Coomer, Sharon Toy, Brenda Palm, Ruth Fecteau and Marcaline Freehan.

Visiting hours will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco. Burial will be in the spring at Greenwood Cemetery in Biddeford.
