SACO — Patricia (Patsourakos) Boucouvalas, 90, of Saco, passed away after a long illness, at home on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017.

She was the daughter of George and Aphrodite (Kokinakos) Patsourakos and the faithful wife of Charles Steven Boucouvalas.

Patricia was born at 12 Common St. in Saco, on Jan. 31, 1927. She was raised and educated in Brooklyn, New York, where she graduated from the Industrial High School, Class of 1944, after completing her elementary education at the PS 9 Elementary School. She grew up in Brooklyn, with her sister, Catherine (Patsourakos) Grafakos, her brother, Dr. Peter Paros, and niece Effie (Grafakos) Tsigakos. Patricia worked in her father’s restaurant, the Richelieu, where she served as both a hostess and cashier.

On Jan. 6, 1949, she married her husband, Charles Steven Boucouvalas, and took up residence in Saco, where she lived her entire adult life. Her husband, Charles, passed away on May 9, 1987.

Patricia was very active in the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Saco. She was a member and past-president of the Sorority of the Lacones, member of St. Fotini Society and also served many years on the Council of Churches in various capacities. She loved to take care of her family, cook, knit and crochet sharing her handiwork with family and friends. Patricia was generous to a fault, loved to laugh and always spoke her mind. Her greatest joy in life were her children and her grandchildren. Patricia’s hardest task in life was bearing the sorrow of the untimely death of her beloved son George “Goo-Goo” Charles Boucouvalas at the age of 15 on Oct. 9, 1966.

She is survived by her three children, Steven Charles Boucouvalas and wife, Janet (Rousseau) Boucouvalas of Old Town, Paula Charles Brickates and husband, Lewis K. Brickates of Fairfax, Virginia, and Christopher Charles Boucouvalas of Saco. Patricia is also survived by her two grandsons, Charles Steven Boucouvalas and Michael Steven Boucouvalas both of Old Town; and granddaughter, Anne Paula Brickates, in her last year of law school at the University of Virginia.

Patricia will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
