We all love food. A stir and a taste is how culinary love begins. It is said, “If you have your health, you have everything.” The pursuit of health is a universal desire of mankind. New insight has shaped how people think about food.
Scientists seek knowledge and are always on the lookout for safe cures and prevention of disease. The science of nutrition has learned that ingested chemicals that are not made in the body damages the body.
How do healthy, rational human beings nourish themselves? Eat!
Being informed with knowledge we can reverse disorders and diseases. Today we live in a world that offers healthy nutrition, nontoxic products and therapies of every kind. Just think, we can help our organs do exactly what they are designed to do and we can thank them over and over for the vital roll they play in our well-being.
There are a lots of ideas about diet and nutrition. Trends come and go and findings contradict one another. Food choices are personal. There are so many diets and nutritional information out there it can be confusing. We all want to eat well, be healthy, say slim and never feel deprived.
Some doctors, scientists and researchers celebrate the tasty revolution of plant-based cooking.
They predict: “Doctors of the future will prescribe food rather than medicine. Practice of medicine will change.” Research states that the vast majority of diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, and autoimmune disorders are all negatively impacted by meat-centered diet.
Let’s investigate. A vegan feast is a meatless menu that honors your health and the earth. This includes no animal products including eggs, dairy and of course meat. Physicians know they will need more than nutritional statistics to convince people to try the vegan or vegetarian diet. They believe if you sifted the emphasis of your diet to health promoting foods, you would feel better, avoid many causes of illnesses and death, and you would even look better-as a delightful bonus.
Most folks are more familiar with a vegetarian diet. In a very general sense, a vegetarian is someone who does not eat meat. There are several kinds of vegetarians’ diets. Lactovo vegetarians eat milk products –such as cheese, yogurt and eggs, but no meat, poultry seafood or fish.
GMOs are in the news a lot now, but not because they are new. They have been in our food supply for nearly 20 years. Intense debate over genetically modified foods continues amid confusion. (Having curiosity about GMOs I have tried to study and scrutinize but I am befuddled.)
What exactly are Genetically Modified Organisms? Are GMOs safe? Are there invisible monsters that come to us in the foods we feed ourselves and our family?
GMO are genetically engineered foods produced from organisms that have changes introduced into their DNA using the methods of genetic engineering. Genetic engineering techniques allow for the introduction of new traits as well as greater control over traits that previous methods such as selective breeding and mutation breeding.
The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine calls unrefined grains, vegetables, fruit and legumes the “New Four Food Groups”. These are simple foods from nature that have formed the foundation of human diets.
They are foods that the cells of the body know how to deal with in an efficient and health promoting manner. You can add meat, eggs and dairy products for flavor.
Foods will not get in our mouth if we don’t put it there.
