
She was born July 25, 1933, in Biddeford, a daughter of Honore and Irene B. (Payeur) Roberge, and was educated in Biddeford Schools.
On May 10, 1958, she married Paul E. Gagne in Saco.
She had worked for 12 years at the Bates and Pepperell mills in Biddeford, and for five years at Sanders Electronics in So. Portland. Most recently she had been employed at the Saco Hannaford, retiring in 1995.
Rachel enjoyed reading, gardening, playing cards and spending time with her granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by: Paul, her husband of 46 years, on March 21, 2005; their son, Roger Gagne, on April 8, 1972; and siblings, Marie Marthe, Gerald, and Marcel.
She is survived by: daughter, Paulette A. Scott, and her husband, Troy, of York; two granddaughters, Lauren Scott, of Boston, Massachusetts, and Mary Scott, of York; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at Hope Memorial Chapel 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
