After graduating from Morse High School, Class of 1971,Tim earned his Bachelors Degree from the University of Maine, Machias. He taught school for many years in Bath. Later, Tim moved to West Palm Beach and was a teacher with the Palm Beach County School Department.
Returning to Maine, Tim was employed at Lisbon Middle School and ran the school library there. He was well liked and respected by the staff and students, and often spoke of his teaching and projects he undertook there. Tim is predeceased by his parents and brother, Tyler Gaudet.
Timothy’s other interest and love was antiques. He was a knowledgable and respected antique dealer, specializing in royal beuthruth and cut glass products. Tim actually started buying and selling antiques when he was just 11 years old. He was written up in the Antique Digest as a specialist in this area. He displayed his antiques at several consignment shops and antique shows. Tim was well known in Maine and Brimfield, MA where he did their shows. He also had an active ebay account where he bought and sold many items. Tim could look at a piece of cut glass and tell you almost exactly what it was worth, where it was made and by whom.
Tim had many friends throughout Maine. He loved Halloween, where he would dress up in a funny costume and attend a party with friends, usually taking the award for most original costume. He loved going to Portland and having the fried haddock dinner at Becky’s Diner.
Tim decorated his home in style for the Holidays, and though he did not like the cold weather, made his home festive and warm.
There will be a celebration of Tim’s life during the summer, date to be announced, and his ashes will be interred in his family plot in Downeast Maine.
