BIDDEFORD — Anita M. Labonte, 80, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, of Biddeford, passed away on Tuesday, March 14 2017, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough Maine, following a courageous battle with cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.

She was born on April 11, 1936, in Rockwood, Maine, oldest daughter of Arthur and Annette Ouellette, and was educated in Biddeford and Saco schools after moving from Fort Kent, Maine.

On May 30, 1955, she married Paul Henry Labonte at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Saco.

Anita owned and operated the Sleepy Hollow Motel in Biddeford for 30 years, with her husband Paul.

She enjoyed spending Saturday afternoons with her sisters, playing card games, and cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at family gatherings and attending their sporting events. She was also very fond of time spent with friends, where they wintered at Indian Harbour Beach, Florida.

Anita was preceded in death by: her parents; a sister, Diana Paquette; a brother, Paul Ouellette; and her husband, Paul.

Surviving are: her three sons, Michael Labonte of Old Orchard Beach, and his children, Lauren and Jake, David Labonte of Biddeford, and his children, Roxy, Garrett, and Brennen, and Daniel Labonte and his wife, Jane, of Bensalem, Pennsylvania, and their son, Samuel; and one daughter, Karen Stebbins and her husband, Timothy, of Biddeford, and their sons, Brady and Noah; as well as five great-grandchildren. She also leaves: two sisters, Betty Morse and her husband, Frank, of Saco, and Dorothy Twombly of Hollis; brother, Ray Ouellette and his wife, Molly, of Saco; brother-in-law, Roland Labonte and wife, Marilyn, of Jupiter, Florida; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. May 20, 2017, at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel.
