SHAPLEIGH – No one was injured when a car driven by an elderly Acton woman hit Ted’s Fried Clams building and then another car Sunday.

York County Sheriff Bill King said the mishap took place at about 12:30 p.m.at the seafood restaurant at 222  Emery Mills Road, which is Route 109.

Deputies and Shapleigh Fire and Rescue arrived to learn that Althea Cram, 93, of Acton, was backing her 2006 Dodge Stratus out of a parking spot at the eatery and pushed too hard on the accelerator.

“The vehicle lunged backward and struck the corner of the building and continued backing and struck a parked 2007 Toyota Prius that was occupied by Hoa Nguyen, 62 from Springvale,” the sheriff said in a statement.

He said Nguyen was a passenger in the Prius, waiting for her husband to return with ice cream.
