SACO — Edmund L. Fearon, 86, of Saco died Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Monarch Center in Saco.

He was born July 2, 1930 in Biddeford a son of Henry F. and Dorothy (Burnham) Fearon and was educated locally, graduating from Biddeford High school in the Class of 1948. He joined the U.S. Navy and then transferred to the Marine Corps, serving as a Medical Corpsman in Korea.

On June 2, 1951 he married Marguerite Cote at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.

He was employed at the Webber Hospital / Southern Maine Medical Center for 35 years, retiring as director of the laboratories.

Edmund enjoyed gardening, fishing and camping. He had also traveled with his wife to England, Austria, Ireland, Hawaii and California.

Marguerite, his wife of 62 years, preceded him in death on this same date three years ago (March 30, 2013) Also predeceasing him were his daughter, Joanne Foresman in 2013, a grandson Matthew Binette in 2017, and brothers, Richard and Paul Fearon.

He is survived by one son, Philip Fearon and his wife Brandi of Saco; five daughters, Leah Ross of Virginia, Patricia Quessy and her husband Jean Guy of Naples, Florida, Lynne Belanger and her husband Lou of Biddeford, Claire Custeau and her husband Donald of Biddeford, and Robin Elsier and her husband Dominic of Waterboro; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. in the Hope Chapel. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
