BRUNSWICK — Albert Vachon, 94, of Brunswick, died on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Hill House in Bath. He was born in Amesbury, MA, on March 25, 1923, the son of Joseph & Marie (Carrier) Vachon. He grew up in Bath, graduating from Morse High School, Class of 1942.

On May 20, 1950 he married his true love, Laurette Albert, in Lewiston at the St. Peter & Paul Church. In 1959 the couple moved to Brunswick to raise their family.

Albert worked for Bath Iron Works as a draftsman for over 30 years before retiring. He was always a hard worker, something he strongly believed in, so retirement was hard for him to accept. He worked for many years after that for Shaw’s supermarkets.

Albert had many passions, one of which was cultivating his gardens. He was a jack of all trades, and built a summer camp in the late 60’s for his family to enjoy the summers, something that he was very proud of. He also enjoyed vacationing in Canada to visit with family.

He was predeceased by his wife, Laurette in 2005 and a son, Paul in 1988.

He leaves behind a son, Richard Vachon of Brunswick and a very special family members from Canada, Yves & Ginette Delisle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 10:00am at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Brunswick.
