NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — The Plymouth State University baseball team split a weekend doubleheader against Western Connecticut State, winning the opener, 13-11, and dropping the nightcap, 12-6.
In the opener, former Brunswick High School standout Brady Larson earned the mound win for the Panthers.
WCS led 10-1 through five innings, but the Panthers rallied with four runs in the sixth and seven in the seventh for a 12-10 lead.
Larson (2-0) pitched 2 2/3 innings on two hits and two strikeouts.
The split leaves PSU with a 9-7 overall record and a 2-2 mark in the Little East Conference, while WCS is now 10- 8 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
