BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin College thrower John Pietro has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men’s Field Performer of the Week.
Pietro led the Polar Bears to a first-place finish at the Bowdoin Invitational. He won the shot put (47-09.25), and set personal bests in claiming the discus (139-00) and hammer throw (170-08) to sweep the throwing events.
The outdoor track and field teams will host Middlebury in a dual meet on Saturday at Magee-Samuelson track beginning at 11 a.m.
