SCARBOROUGH — Brian James Grindle, 51, of Sanford and formerly of Pownal, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 12, 2017, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough after battling cancer.

He was born on Jan. 9, 1966, to Stanley and Marilyn Buck Grindle. He loved cooking, Monhegan Island, Buck’s camp and gambling.

Brian is survived by three brothers, Allen, Tim and Blaine Grindle; two sisters, Karen Grindle and Jacqueline Manton; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Joel.

A small gathering will be held Saturday, April 15, at 6 p.m. at the Grindle Property, 41 Tuttle Road, Pownal. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, feel free to bring a live plant to the gathering and we will plant them around Brian’s resting place.
