ARUNDEL – Diane R. Roberge, 65, passed away on April 18, 2017, in Florida, after a brief illness.

Diane went to join her beloved daughter, Paula Smart, in heaven who was constantly on her mind every day after her untimely passing in December 2015.

Diane was born on July 14, 1951, the daughter of Raymond and Therese (Martel) Blais. She attended St. Andre’s School, and graduated from Biddeford High School in 1969.

On April 14, 1996, she married Joseph (Joey) Roberge. They were married for 21 years.

She was employed at Morning Star/Corning for 35 years retiring at age 55. She then helped her husband operate R&R Oil. They recently bought a home in Florida, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Diane had an outgoing personality and could strike up a conversation with anyone within minutes of meeting them, and could hold a conversation for hours on end. Everyone who came in contact with her enjoyed her company. This created friends in all places she visited.

Her hobbies include professional food tasting. She was an avid shopper, and loved to keep stores open past closing time. She had a special love for her designer “pocketbooks.” She also enjoyed her frequent meetings with friends at the local Dunkin Donuts and Tim Hortons.

She is preceded in death by: her daughter, Paula Smart in 2015; father, Raymond Blais in 2011; mother, Therese Blais in 2015; and beloved dog Pepper, who was her shadow, in 2016.

She is survived by: her beloved husband, Joey Roberge; brother, Roger Blais; sisters, Carol Riche, Nancy Gagne, and Aline Larochelle; several nieces and nephews; along with many long-time, close friends who were like family to her.

She will be sadly missed by so many.

In accordance with Diane’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. A private burial will take place at a later date.

Based on her love for dogs, donations in Diane’s memory may be made to the Animal Welfare Society.
