RUTH THIBODEAU, TOM GILBERT, YVETTE MEUNIER AND JAKE PLANTE were among six members of Bring Your Own Bag MidCoast Saturday — Earth Day — who picked up trash along two sections of Bath Road in Brunswick. The group says it collected 12 overstuffed bags of litter consisting of disposable cups, plastic bags and film, Styrofoam containers, drinking straws, cardboard and sundry items including a pulverized orange traffic cone, a shoe and a garage door opener. Topsham and Brunswick have recently passed ordinanes banning or limiting the use of plastic bags and Styrofoam.
