Air Force Airman 1st Class Ashley M. Libby graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, near San Antonio, Texas, following an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

A 2011 graduate of Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham, Libby earned a bachelor’s degree in 2015 from the University of Maine at Farmington.

She is the daughter of Jonathan Libby and Theresa Taylor-Libby and stepdaughter of Maureen Libby, all of Portland.

Air Force Reserve Capt. Kristin J. Montville has been decorated with the Air Force Commendation Medal for demonstrating outstanding achievement or meritorious service in the performance of duties on behalf of the Air Force.

A 2005 graduate of Falmouth Academy in Falmouth, Massachusetts, Montville earned a bachelor’s degree in 2009 from Wellesley College.

She is the daughter of Kathleen M. Meade of Pembroke, Massachusetts, and Gerry Jochems of Windham.

Air Force National Guard Airman 1st Class Joseph H. Bowering graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland following an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Bowering earned distinction as an honor graduate.

A 2016 graduate of Mount Blue High School in Farmington, Bowering is the son of Pamela Caldwell of Waterville and Marc Bowering of Wilton.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Norman A. Parks III graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland following its eight-week program.

A 2010 graduate of Buckfield Junior-Senior High School, Parks earned a bachelor’s degree in 2015 from the University of Southern Maine. He is the son of Laura A. and Norman A. Parks of Buckfield.
