BATH — Belly dance instructor Josephina Gasca will teach a “Shimmytastic” Belly Dance class for teen participants at Patten Free Library on Tuesday, May 16 at 3:30 p.m. The workshop is free, open to students in grades 6-12, and will be held in the library’s Community Room. Pre-registration is required; space is limited.
“Authentic belly dance is an ancient form of dance that celebrates every body type and stage of life,” said Josephina Gasca of Belly Dance with Josephina. “Our emphasis for this workshop will be shimmies. Dancers will learn isolating movements emanating from the core. It’s the Pilates of dance and so much fun.”
Participants should wear comfortable clothing; jingling hip scarves will be available for the class. Light refreshments will be served.
