FREEPORT — William Kenneth Kimball, age 86, of Prout Road, died Monday, May 1st at Freeport Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born on August 10, 1930, a son of Harry and Nettie Edson Kimball and attended Harrison Schools.

William was a Veteran of the United States Army. As a young man he was a logger alongside his brother Jr. He worked at Bath Iron Works for many years and retired in 1993.

He was married to his first wife Sheila and they had a son, William D. Kimball of Bristol, England. He married his second wife, Virginia, in 1976. She passed away in 1993.

William (Bill) is survived by his son, William, of Bristol, England and two sisters Muriel Brine and Freda Nelson. He is also survived by many special Nieces and Nephews whom he loved dearly.

In addition to his wife Virginia, he was predeceased by a brother Harry Kimball Jr. and four sisters, Hazel Parlin (his twin), Myrna (Babe) Benoit, Dorothy Saucier, and Phyllis Saucier.

William (Uncle Billy Bumps) enjoyed his time with all his special Nieces and Nephews, especially his yearly birthday Lobster Feasts. He was a jack of all trades and could fix almost anything he put his hands on. He spent many years and took much pride in mowing and maintaining his Sister’s yards as well as his own. He loved animals and was especially fond of cats. He also spent many years as a member of the American Legion. He was a truly amazing man and will be missed dearly by all who loved him.

Funeral arrangements are being made by Brackett Funeral Home and will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory, can be made to The American Legion or to a charity of your choosing.
