NEWBURYPORT, Mass. — Two York County residents have been sentenced to 18 months in jail in Massachusetts following an incident in April 2015 involving illegal handgun possession.

Jade Jones, 21, of Biddeford and Timothy Seaver, 20, of Hollis Center were arrested during a traffic stop on April 15, 2015, near Salisbury, Massachusetts.

Jones and Seaver were arrested and charged with possession of a large capacity firearm as they were driving from Maine to a concert in Pennsylvania.

Prosecutors say neither of the men had a license to carry a firearm, and the charges were reduced to carrying a firearm without a license. 

Several other York County residents also were in the car and were arrested for drug possession

Amethyst Townsend, 20, of Biddeford was charged with possession of ecstasy pills with the intention to distribute and being a minor is possession of alcohol. Charges against Townsend were continued without a finding for six months as part of a plea deal with prosecutors. 

Danielle Parrish, 21, of Kennebunkport was also charged with possession of ecstasy pills and hallucinogenic mushrooms

Parrish did not return to court in Newburyport following her arrest and a warrant for her arrest has been issued.
