Jalen Beeks extended his scoreless streak to 24 consecutive innings and Nick Longwent 3-for-5 with three RBIs, leading the Portland Sea Dogs (17-12) to a 5-0 Eastern League win over the Reading Fightin Phils (17-13) on Friday night at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Beeks (5-1, league leader in wins) set careers highs with the scoreless streak and his fourth consecutive win, allowing just two hits on four walks and seven strikeouts.
The teams play game two of their four-game series tonight beginning at 7:05 p.m.
