Trailing 1-0 in the seventh inning and in danger of seeing a long 76-game winning streak come to an end, the Richmond High School softball team had one more push left.

The Bobcats tallied a pair of runs in the seventh inning for a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Traip Academy on Thursday.

Richmond, now 7-0 and in possession of 77 straight wins, heads to Vinalhaven/ North Haven on Saturday for an 11 a.m. contest.

Rangers pitcher Reilly Eddy kept the Bobcats off-balance, striking out 16 and allowing just four hits and three walks. Kara Perez’s RBI double gave Traip the 1- 0 lead.

But in the Richmond seventh, Bryanne Lancaster singled after fanning in her first two plate appearances. Mackenzie Abbott followed with a single, and after an Ashley Brown sacrifice bunt, Meranda Martin hit a hard grounder to the Rangers shortstop, who bobbled and threw late to home as both Lancaster and Abbott scored.

On the mound, Martin was solid. She struck out five, didn’t walk a hitter and permitted seven hits. She set the Rangers down in order in the seventh to preserve the win, Richmond’s closest result since last season’s 4-3 walk-off win over Sacopee Valley.

Caitlin Kendrick and Cassidy Harriman singled for Richmond.

MARANACOOK 1

Morse played the visiting team in Bath, but played like the home team in rolling to a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Maranacook.

The Shipbuilders, 5-2 and slated to visit Spruce Mountain today at 4 p.m., scored two runs in the second, four in the third and five more in the sixth to pull away.

Dory Kulis was solid on the mound in the win, striking out four and walking one. She allowed just four hits.

Micailah Albertson and Mikayla Rose each singled and doubled for Morse, while Olivia Potter, Paige Faulkingham, Maddie Mitchell and Kulis each singled twice. Hope Faulkingham and Marissa Parks chipped in a single apiece.

TELSTAR 3

The Greyhounds tallied five runs in the eighth inning to pull away from the Rebels in MVC action at Bethel.

Brittany Norman had three hits for Lisbon (5-2) and may have saved the game with an unassisted double play in the seventh with the winning run on third.

Carly Drischer and Ali Sult each had two hits for the ’Hounds, who visit Carrabec today at 4 p.m.

Josie Forbes had four hits for Telstar (5-3).

nine runs in the third inning to pull away for an MVC win over Wiscasset, which fell to 1-8 and hosts Monmouth today at 4 p.m.

The Wolverines scored their run in the fifth. Leah Potter, Lindsey Gordon and Stephanie Jones singled, and August Moore walked to force in the run.

Jones had three hits, including a double for Wiscasset, while Potter picked up two hits.

Sam Lebeau earned the mound win with seven strikeouts. Cheyanne Sirois had three hits, including a two- run double, while Lexie Cowan launched a three-run home run.

WELLS 13

The Falcons fell to 1-6 in Western Maine Conference plays and host Yarmouth today at 4 p.m.

Sara Ring led Wells (8-1) with a double, home run and two RBIs. Olivia Durfee and Karrissa Kenyon each had two hits and an RBI.

Kenyon earned the mound win on one hit and one walk while fanning 12.

Bri Bellefleur pitched for Freeport on 10 hits.

Baseball

BETHEL — Lisbon scored three runs in the eighth inning, earning a 4-1 MVC win over Telstar.

Noah Austin pitched an eight-inning no-hitter for the Greyhounds (7-1). He struck out two, walked one and hit a batter.

Telstar’s Zack Hill was nearly as strong, going seven-plus on three strikeouts, two walks and five hits.

Austin drove in the winning run, singling in Ryley Austin for a 2-1 Lisbon lead. Nick Lerette and Sean Scott added an RBI each to put the Rebels (2-8) away. Nate Havlicek joined Noah Austin by going 2-for-4 at the dish.

Lisbon visits Madison/ Carrabec today at 4 p.m.

RICHMOND 6
TRAIP 4

The visiting Bobcats scored five runs in the seventh inning for a come-from-behind non-conference win at Kittery.

Richmond, 7-1 and slated to visit Vinalhaven/North Haven Saturday at 1 p.m., received a single and run each from Justin Vachon and Matt Rines during the winning rally.

Trevor Salema paced the Rangers (5-2) with double and single.

On the mound, Rines, Vachon and Brendan Emmons combined on seven hits, eight strikeouts and two walks.

Boys lacrosse

BRUNSWICK — Josh Dorr tallied the winning goal with 3:18 remaining in overtime to lift undefeated Brunswick to a 12-11 win over Kennebunk.

The Dragons improved to 6-0 and visit Lewiston tonight at 7:30 p.m., while the Rams fell to 2-4.

Aiden Glover assisted on the winning goal and registered three goals and two assists on the night. Dorr had a game-high four goals and dished out two helpers.

Dante DeLorenzo and Cam Connor notched a hat trick each for Kennebunk.
