Final grade paving will occur on Precourt Street from Alfred Street to Elm Street today until 7 p.m. Two-way traffic will be maintained with some traffic interruptions and delays.
And from today until Friday, preparation for paving on Main Street will occur between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
This will involve digging, removal of cobblestones and other related construction in preparation for shimming and final paving. There will be no parking along the Main Street corridor between Alfred and Elm streets during this time; limited short-term parking will be permitted in non-active construction areas for periods not to exceed 20 minutes.
Access to Biddeford Savings Bank parking lot and the parking lot adjacent to Morning Natural Foods will remain accessible for people wishing to visit local businesses within the area. All local businesses within the Main Street area will remain open for business during this construction period.
Delays and some detouring are expected.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
