Tim grew up in Bath and West Bath, graduating from Morse High School the class of 1978. In his youth, Tim was an active participant in the Boy Scouts of Bath troop #652, church youth group and a proud member of the Morse High swimming team. Tim began a 40 year career in plumbing learning the trade from his father Willard and later sharing that knowledge with his son, Tim Jr. as they rode shoulder to shoulder serving the Mid-Coast community.
He was a past member of the United Church of Christ Congregational of Bath and presently a friend of the First Baptist Church of Bath.
He enjoyed boating from Sabino in West Bath and fishing on the New Meadows River. He also enjoyed the many vacations at his family’s camp on Sugar Island at Moosehead Lake and spending time hunting with his brother Jim.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years Bethany “Betsy“ McCabe and their son Timothy McCabe, Jr. of West Bath, three sisters, Virginia “Gingia” McCabe- Crumb of Laconia, NH, Wendy Zaharis and her husband Dean of Scarborough and Candace McCabe and her husband Gary Hunter of Belmont, NH, one brother, James McCabe and his wife Peggy of West Bath, his father-in law, Donald Bruce of Redlands, CA, his sister-in-law, Nancy Elwell and husband Michael of Port Orange , FL, two brothers-in –law, Donald Bruce III of Brunswick and Peter Bruce and his wife Dawn of Framingham, MA, five nieces, Brenda, Erika, Heather, Amy, and Sarah, three nephews, Tighe, Jacob, and Kerry, and his dear friend, Michael Lozier of West Bath.
The family would like to express their tremendous gratitude toward all the friends , neighbors, Local S6, BIW, our Church family and Spinney’s at Popham Beach who have shared their love, kindness, prayers, and support . Mid Coast-Parkview Health, Coastal Cancer Treatment Center, Mid Coast Hospital and CHANS staff for their compassion, the Hematology/ Oncology Infusion Center for their friendship, Dr. Trudi Chase and Dr. John Parker for their excellent care. A special thank you to Andrew Susen PA-C. who was there at the start of Tim’s journey.
Visitation will be held Sunday May 28 2017 at 1:30 pm followed by A Going Home celebration at 3pm at First Baptist Church of Bath, 851 Washington Street with Pastor and Friend Steve Rowe officiating. A gathering will follow in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that you keep performing those random acts of kindness.
