TOPSHAM
The latest link in Topsham’s trail system officially opens at the Topsham municipal building today at 4 p.m. during a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The entrance to the new 0.64-mile bicycle and pedestrian trail is between the Wright-Pierce building and Gibbs Oil Co. gas station on Main Street. The trail runs through woods behind Wright-Pierce and ends at the Route 196 Coastal Connector. It runs parallel to the bypass road and connects to Community Drive.
Municipal and Maine Department of Transportation officials are expected to attend today’s ceremony and Town Manager Rich Roedner is expected to give remarks. The municipal building is located at 100 Main St.
