TOPSHAM — Vivian Joyce Kemp, age 71, of Danielle Drive died Wednesday, May 31st at Horizon’s Living and Rehabilitation Center in Brunswick.

Vivian was born in Bay Shore, L.I. New York on July 2, 1945 the daughter of Louis and Emma Senft Kemp. She attended local schools and earned her master’s degree from Hofstra University in L.I., New York.

For thirty years Vivian worked as a teacher assisting mentally and physically challenged students for the Brentwood School District in L.I., New York.

While on Long Island Vivian also worked in battered women’s shelters.

Vivian moved to Topsham, Maine in 2001 and was locally active in theater productions and played percussion instruments in area orchestra’s. Vivian was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church- All Saints Parish and had sung in the church choir.

Surviving is her brother Steven W.

Kemp of Topsham.

Visiting hours will be held from 6-8 PM Tuesday, June 6th at Stetson’s Funeral Home 12 Federal St., Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Wednesday, June 7th at St. Charles Borromeo Church- All Saints Parish 132 McKeen St., Brunswick. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Bay Shore, L.I. New York.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice in her memory.
