DURHAM — Joyce Irene (Marston) Waterman, 64, of Durham passed away Friday June 2, 2017 at her home with her loving family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer for ten months. She was born in Middleboro, MA on July 18, 1952 a daughter of the late Alfred and Doris (Verrill) Marston. She married Jere L. Waterman on May 12, 1981 and during his 21 year career in the Navy they were stationed in Mayport, FL and Groton, CT.

Joyce and Jere moved to Brunswick in June of 1985. She went to work at Freeport Nursing Home in July of 1985 and retired from there in July of 2014 after 29 years.

Joyce and Jere bought their home in Durham in March of 1988. Joyce returned to work in April of 2016 at Dionne Commons in Brunswick until July of 2016 when she became ill.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 36 years, Jere Waterman of Durham, a daughter, Tracy Pelkey of Brunswick, a son, Jeffrey Dyer of Richmond, stepsons; Jere Waterman, Jr. and wife Judy of Searsport, Kerry Waterman and wife Angie of Belfast, and Brent Waterman and wife Kristen of Belmont. She also leaves behind her brothers; Frank Weymouth and his wife Mary Kay of Kentucky, Leon Weymouth and his wife Carol of Massachusetts, Everett Weymouth of Kentucky and Robert Marston and his wife Arlene of Harrison, her sisters; Janice Noyes of Florida and Joan Edgerly and her husband Dwight of Pownal as well as thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Ronald.
