NORTH SACO — Richard J. McKinnon Jr., 63, of Virginia Ave., passed away Saturday June 10, 2017, at the Togus Veterans Hospital in Augusta.

He was born in Biddeford, Aug. 22, 1953, the son of Richard and Doris Tacchereau McKinnon Sr.

Richard attended local Saco schools. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict. After his service to his country, he returned home and traveled all over the United States.

He was a carpenter, a lead guitarist for several bands and enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle.

Survivors include: his father, Richard “Dick” McKinnon Sr. and his wife, Clair, of Tennessee; a brother, Keith McKinnon of Saco; a sister, Kim McKinnon of Buxton; a son, Ricky McKinnon of Buxton; three grandchildren; and 10 nieces.

Friends and relatives may call at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home 13 Portland Road, Buxton (Bar Mills), Thursday June 15, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. A 1 p.m. graveside service on Friday June 16, 2017, with U.S. Navy Honors will be held at Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery, 87 Stanley Road, Springvale.
