KENNEBUNKPORT — Patricia “Pat” Gunn Brannen Lyna, 80 years, a resident of Kennebunkport, died peacefully at her residence on June 20, 2017.

Pat was born in Portland, Maine on March 27, 1937, to Peter McIver and Grace Feury Gunn, and was married to Robert M. Lyna on Sept. 8, 1983. Pat lived in New York and Portland until the age of 9, and lived happily in Kennebunk and Kennebunkport for the rest of her life.

Pat met the love of her life in 1973, and was preceded in death by: her husband on Aug. 2, 2003;and her much loved son, Peter Brannen, on March 17, 2006.

For many years, Pat was a member of Kennebunkport Business Association, a charter member on the board of directors of Kennebunkport Emergency Services, a Cub Scout leader and room mother at both Park Street and Cousens Schools and a longtime member of Lower Village Mother’s Club.

After 50 years as owner and manager of the Riverview Restaurant, she and her husband retired in 2000, where her son Peter was head cook, and in 1982, Pat, her husband and partner Marilyn Young purchased a 1750 farm house and turned it into a spectacular restaurant known as Samuel Hill Tavern which was their pride and joy.

In 2011, she received an Irish birth certificate and dual citizenship for which she was very proud.

Pat was preceded in death by: her wonderful parents, Peter and Grace Gunn; son, Peter Brannen; husband, Robert Lyna; as well as many aunts and uncles.

Pat is survived by: her beloved son, Michael Brannen; grandson, Sean Brannen of whom she is very proud; and daughter-in-law, Joyce Brannen Marie Shortell and Evan Ward and Patience Brennan.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2017, at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Holy Spirit Parish – St. Martha’s Church, 30 Portland Road, Kennebunk, Maine. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland, Maine.
