BIDDEFORD — Arlene Jean Eisenstadt, 66, of Biddeford passed away at Maine Medical Center on June 20, 2017, after a long illness with her family at her side.

She was born in Portland, Maine on May 5, 1951, the daughter of Raymond and Ella (Clark) Arvisais.

After graduating from Deering High School, she worked at Friends and Trends in Portland, Scarborough Downs, and Casco Bank in Naples before transferring to the Portland branch on Commercial Street. She later worked at Dave’s Hills Beach Country Store and Fashion Bug in Biddeford. She eventually opened her own sandwich shop, Rea’s Foods, before her retirement.

She had many joys in life that focused on arts and crafts including knitting, crocheting, painting, drawing, and cooking, but what made her the proudest was her daughter Elizabeth.

She married her husband Edward on Nov. 27, 1987, and they spent 29 beautiful years together. Arlene was a member of the Biddeford City Planning Board, as well as the Biddeford Saco Conservation Commission.

Arlene is survived by her husband, Edward Eisenstadt; daughter Elizabeth Eisenstadt of Biddeford; her son Jason Bilodeau and his wife Venus of Sanford; three grandchildren Jordan Bilodeau, Craig Bilodeau and Zachary Ames; two sisters Marilyn Powers and her husband Alan (Jeff) of Westbrook, and Carilyn Norberg and her husband David of South Portland; and brother Thomas Arvisais and his wife Dianne of Rhode Island.

There will be a celebration of life service on a later date and committal services will be private.
