TOPSHAM — Garrett C. Ellenwood, age 48, of Shellenbarger Road passed away at his home on June 23, 2017.

He was the son of Ann and Ted Ellenwood. Garrett was born in Concord, NH February 20, 1969. He attended Yarmouth schools and SMTC.

Garrett worked many years as a pawn broker in the Portland area. He owned and operated JAGS Gun and Pawn in Topsham for several years. After closing his business, he became a customer service representative at Lowe’s in Brunswick.

Garrett was an avid outdoorsman, golfer, and New England sports enthusiast. He will be remembered best by friends and family for his wit and humor. Most importantly, Garrett loved spending quality time with his family.

He is survived by two sons, James & Adam Ellenwood, his longtime girlfriend, Rene’ Smith, her daughter, Charlene Smith, Garrett’s mother, Ann Kennedy Ellenwood, his sister, Allison Ellenwood Spellman, brother-in-law, Dennis, and niece, Olivia. Also, he is survived by Uncle Tom & Aunt Joan Cushman, Uncle Michael & Aunt Wanda Kennedy, Uncle Vincent Kennedy & longtime girlfriend, Suzanne Banacos, and many cousins.

He is predeceased by his father, Ted Ellenwood, and his grandparents, Irma & Vincent Kennedy.

Services will be held on Saturday,

July 1, 2017 at 11 am, First Baptist Church of Yarmouth 346 Main St. Yarmouth, ME 04096. A reception in his honor will follow in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention AFSP.org.
