A Bath man is in critical condition at Maine Medical Center after his Jeep crashed Five Islands Road in Georgetown Wednesday.
The crash was reported near 83 Five Islands Road at 5:47 p.m.
Sagadahoc County Chief Deputy Brett Strout said police arrived to find 20 people holding up the 2001 Wrangler to keep it from rolling over completely.
The driver, James Moran, 50, of Bath, was pinned inside and had to be extricated.
Moran was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland and was listed in critical condition Thursday afternoon.
Michael Tibbetts, 60, of Georgetown, was a passenger in the front seat and was able to get out of the Jeep on his own. He was taken to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
A rear passenger, Richard Heffron III, 38, of Bath, was transported to Maine Medical Center but later discharged.
The accident is under investigation.
“We are looking at the possibility that a white box truck crossed the center line and forced them off the road,” Strout said.
