NEW HIRES
Tim McCarty joined Clark Insurance as the director of loss control services.
McCarty, of Gorham, brings decades of national experience in the safety field and has twice been recognized by his peers as the Maine Chapter Safety Professional of the Year of the American Society of Safety Engineers.

Scott Walker has joined the Clark Insurance Employee Benefits Group.
Walker, of Standish, previously served as the benefits manager for the Olympia Cos., overseeing benefit administration as well as the design and negotiation of medical, dental, disability and life insurance products and services.

PROMOTIONS
Joshua Ellis and Joshua Fifield were promoted to senior account executives in the business insurance department of Clark Insurance.
Ellis, of Falmouth, joined Clark in 2009 after serving as a claim adjuster for workers’ compensation for two national insurance organizations.
Fifield, of Portland, joined Clark in 2008, having been a workers’ compensation underwriter at MEMIC. He started at the agency as an account manager and in 2010, joined the sales team.

AWARDS and RECOGNITIONS
Michelle Belanger, a personal lines underwriter III at Patriot Insurance Co. in Yarmouth, won the 2017 International Association of Insurance Professionals Region I Professional Underwriter of the Year.
Belanger was selected from nominees across nine Northeast states.

Richard Crossman, of Allen Insurance and Financial, was recently honored by Certified Risk Managers International for leadership and professionalism in the field of risk management.
Crossman, of Camden, was recognized for 15 consecutive years of active affiliation with CRM International. He joined Allen Insurance and Financial in 2008.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS
Bret Cote was elected to the board of directors of Clark Insurance.
Cote, a native of Windham, joined the employee-owned agency in 2007. He lives in Auburn, New Hampshire, and helped establish an office in Manchester that now employs 10 people.

RETIRED
Ken Salvatore, of L.S. Robinson Co. of Southwest Harbor, retired June 1 after a 35-year career in insurance.
Focused primarily in commercial insurance, he worked with two generations of business owners on Mount Desert Island.
Salvatore, of Southwest Harbor, joined L.S. Robinson in 1991 and served in leadership roles in a number of statewide insurance organizations, including a year as president of the Maine Insurance Association from 1998-1999.
