Praise for Collins
I was sorry to see a letter in the paper Friday condemning Sen. Susan Collins for voting to reject the different Republican replacements for the Affordable Care Act on Thursday. It took great courage and strength for Sen. Collins to buck the pressure from her party and vote her conscience to save the health care for so many vulnerable Mainers. She has probably saved lives in doing so. Hopefully, she realizes that many of her constituents applaud her actions, and that we understand that it was a very difficult thing for her to do.
Hopefully, now Legislators can find a way to come together to fix some of the problems recognized in the ACA.
