BRUNSWICK — Donald D. Turner 79, passed away Friday August 4th, 2017 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. He was born October 29, 1937 in Little Rock, AR to Dorsey and Blanche (Ross) Turner.

Don was a one of a kind man. He was a proud man who served our country with loyalty, dignity and respect. He took great pride in his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren even the ones he inherited in the past ten years. He loved them all and loved to spoil them and often would look after them. He attended their birthday party’s and loved to spend time with them, making each one feel special. Don loved his monkeys “Rueben and Casey” he treated them like children. He would often venture out with Rueben on his shoulder to visit residents at a local nursing home. They loved to socialize with Don as much as he enjoyed them.

On Fridays, Don and his wife Marilyn would visit the American Legion in Topsham to have supper with friends. Don was a man who did things his way, everyone that met him, loved him. He found a place in everyone’s heart. He was deeply loved by family and friends and will be missed by all. All agree that our lives are a little better for knowing Don Turner, loving husband, dad, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

Don was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn Wiseman and a brother Billy Ray Turner.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn M. Turner of Brunswick, his sons, Steven L. Turner and his wife Linda Lee of Topsham, and Scott L Turner and his wife Jill of Brunswick, his daughters, Cynthia M. Smith and her husband Martin of Huntington Valley, PA, Sherri E. Barry of Brunswick and Teresa D. Pinter and her husband Edward Lee of Brandon, MS, a sister Diane Barrick of Carlisle, PA, eight grandchildren, Jilanne Babb, Laura Turner, Eric Turner and his wife Amanda, Jolene Grubb, Cyndi Corson, Mark Corson, Angela Wilkinson and Mike Corson, many great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Visiting hours will be held from 6 to 8pm Thursday August 10, at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St. in Brunswick. Funeral Service will be at 11am Friday August 11 at the funeral home with Rev. Ron McLaughlin officiating. Interment with military honor will be in the Haley Cemetery in Topsham.
