KENNEBUNK — CONNECT with 40+ local nonprofits at the second annual community fair featuring interactive games, activites, education and entertainment.

Between 4 and 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the Livewell Center behind Shoppers Village visitors will meet horses, adoptable pups, wildlife (plus your friends and neighbors), sample chowder and other goodies, and learn all about these great organizations making our community better in which to stay, play and work.

Visitors with stamps from each table will have a chance to win prizes and admission is free and open to the public.

CONNECT is designed to both educate and entertain. Hosted by The Kennebunk-Kennebunkport-Arundel Chamber of Commerce and the Livewell Center tenants, the fair will feature the nonprofit businesses and services located within Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and Arundel. New and longtime residents can learn more about services offered “in their own backyard,” and participate in hands-on activities.

Kennebunk Fire & Rescue will have trucks outside the event, for example, and the Animal Welfare Society will be making cat and dogs toys for their residents. Guests can pet the BlixxHorses, as well as rescue dogs from Lucky Pup. Southern Maine Health Care will offer blood pressure checks, and Crossroads for Women will offer stress-reduction and mindfulness exercises, among other activities.

Participants include A Place to Start, Animal Welfare Society, Arundel Historical Society, BlixxHorses, Brick Store Museum, Center for Wildlife, Community Outreach Services, Crossroads for Women, First Church of Christ, Scientist in Kennebunk, Friends of Town House School, Hannaford (free nutrition services), Hope Cemetery & Woods, Kennebunk Free Library, Kennebunk Land Trust, Kennebunk: Committee on Aging, Kennebunkport Historical Society, KidsPeace New England, Lucky Pup Rescue, Maine Families York County, Maine Home Health Care, MaineStage Shakespeare, No Place Like Home, River Tree Arts, Run 4 The Fight, Saco River Theatre, Salty Girl Boutique, Seashore Trolley Museum, Southern Maine Health Care, Southern Maine Health Care (Pediatrics, Sleep Lab, walk-in care), The Center, United Way, Wells Reserve and York County Community College.
