WELLESLEY, Mass.
The Bowdoin College field hockey team held off host Wellesley College, 3-2, Wednesday night in non-conference action.
The Polar Bears (4-2) scored two goals in the second half to break open the 1- 1 tie.
The Polar Bears opened the scoring at 17:37 as Tala Glass carried the ball into the circle, turned and snuck a low shot past Wellesley goalkeeper Janelle Sullivan to make the score 1-0.
Just over five minutes into the second, Bowdoin broke a 1-1 tie on a penalty stroke by Juliana Fiore. Bowdoin extended its lead a few minutes later as Emma Stevens snuck the ball past Sullivan following a low cross from Kara Finnerty.
Maddie Ferrucci made a save in her fourth win of the season. Sullivan made six stops for the Blue.

Natalie Scott scored the tying goal as the host Greyhounds finished in a 1-1 deadlock with Mountain Valley in Mountain Valley Conference action.
Lisbon stands at 1-6-2 and will host Hall-Dale on homecoming weekend on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
Mountain Valley grabbed a 1-0 lead on a Faith Riddick goal.
Mallory Fairbanks set up Scott for the Greyhound goal, and Lisbon netminder Mikaylia Harnden had 11 saves.

MONMOUTH — Tia Day scored four goals to power Monmouth Academy to a 7-1 MVC win over Lisbon.
Destiney Deschaines scored the lone goal in the first half for the Greyhounds, who fell to 4-4-1 and hosts Telstar on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
