Charles has had a number of jobs, but his favorite was Bath Iron Works.
His hobbies include fishing, hunting, gambling and family. You would often find Charles with his grandchildren. He taught them all sports. You would often find him showing them what to do in a game. And for that, every one of the kids are on a sports team, high school, middle school and travel teams.
Charles was predeceased by his parents.
He is survived by one daughter and two sons, Jolene Ernest of Biddeford, Joshua and Leia Ernest of Saco and Christopher Ernest of Biddeford; his grandchildren Dillon, Kiyah, Nathan, Brooke, Baron, Micah, Brody, Bella and Ailani; his sister, Sandra and Dave Libby of Florida; his brother Steve and Denise Ernest of Gorham; and many nices and nephews.
A special thanks to Hospice of Southern Maine.
You have always been my hero dad. My heart breaks that you are not here with me. You will forever be near to my heart. Jolene.
Comments are not available on this story. Read more about why we allow commenting on some stories and not on others.
We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
