BRUNSWICK — On Thursday, Midcoast residents are invited to eat out at local restaurants as part of United Way’s “ Extra Helping” event. A portion of the participating restaurants’ revenue will go to support the community through local United Wayfunded programs.
Participating restaurants include Broadway Deli, Byrnes Irish Pub and Irish Pub II, El Camino, Henry and Marty Restaurant, Joshua’s Tavern, Starlight Café, Sarah’s Café, and S. Fernald Country Store. Visit United Way’s website for a complete listing: uwmcm.org.
Approximately 20,000 residents of Mid Coast Maine were helped last year by United Way- funded programs improving people’s health, education, and financial stability. United Way’s 38 partner agencies include Big Brothers/Big Sisters, People Plus, Tri- County Literacy, Healthy Kids, Oasis Health Network, Habitat for Humanity, Spectrum Generations – Meals on Wheels, Tedford Housing, Oasis Free Clinics and others.
United Way’s fall campaign kicked off on September 12 and ends November 9. This year’s goal is $1.8 million to support local programs. Donations can be sent to United Way of Mid Coast Maine, 34 Wing Farm Parkway, Bath, ME 04530.
