BRUNSWICK
Police says a New Hampshire man crashed his pickup truck on Route 1 in Brunswick Sunday after apparently experiencing a medical event.
The crash was reported at 9:40 a.m. Sunday. Matthew Lyford, 62, of Exeter, N.H., was driving a 2006 Ford pickup truck south on Route 1 when he lost control of his vehicle near the Hardings crossover, according to Brunswick Police Cmdr. Tom Garrepy. The truck left the roadway and rolled over into the trees on the right side of the road.
Lyford was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland with multiple injuries that weren’t life-threatening. Garrepy said police believe Lyford suffered some sort of medical event that led to the crash.
His wife, 71-year-old Kazuye Lyford, was taken to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick with cuts and bruises.
No charges were issued.
