PHIPPSBURG — Betty Jean Gilliam, 83, passed away on Tuesday, Oct 24, 2017 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on Oct 9, 1934 in Gardiner.

Betty enjoyed bowling, knitting, dancing, caring for the elderly and meeting her friends for coffee at the Bath McDonalds. It is there where she met Al Warner. They enjoyed boating, 4 wheeling, motorcycling, and camping at the county fairs and many road trips down south.

She worked for many years at Sebasco Lodge, The Plant Home & Winship Green.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Jane Gilliam; husband, Willard Lowell, husband, Robert Gilliam and her longtime companion Allan Warner.

She leaves behind 4 children, Alonzo Lowe4ll of Parker Head, Virginia Campbell & Tom Messier of Phippsburg, Ellee Lowell Kenney & James of Brunswick, Robert Gilliam & Betsy of Virginia; many stepchildren; 11 Grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one more expected soon; 1 sister, Louise Tibbetts of Gardiner, 2 brothers, Frank Pushard of Georgia and Fred Pushard of Gardiner; also many nieces, nephews & cousins.

The family would like to thank all who have helped her through her many years of care.

There will be a graveside service on Nov 18, 2017 at Morningside Cemetery, Parker Heard Rd, Phippsburg at 2:00pm with a gathering after at 31 Highland Street in Bath.
