BRUNSWICK — Jane E. Jefferson 76, died Monday at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. She was born October 14, 1941 in Freeport to John A. and Doris (Jackson) Peacock.

Jane graduated from Freeport High School and has been a lifelong resident of the Freeport/Brunswick area. After graduating high school she worked in area shoe shops. She later began a 35 year career in Trust/Finance Banking beginning with Casco Bank which later became Key Bank. She developed lifelong friendships during her banking career.

On July 6, 1966, Jane married the love of her life, David L. Jefferson. Jane had a special relationship with her sister Elaine, sharing books, family bean suppers and boating. She also enjoyed cross stitching and sewing. Jane loved her cats and for 25 years she worked closely with the Friends of Felines, helping her take care of and stop the increasing number of feral cats in her property.

Jane is survived by her husband of 51 years, David L. Jefferson of Brunswick, her sons, Randall Duval of California, and Darrell R. Jefferson and Theresa DiBiase of Brunswick, her sister Elaine Wyman and her husband Merv of Pownal, her grandchildren, McKenzie and Ashley Duval and their mother, Shelly Duval Kyle and Derek Jefferson and their mother, Tracy Henke. and Crow Dusk, son of Theresa DiBiase Many extended family members in Georgia, Maine and Virginia.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm, Friday November 3, 2017 at the Burr Cemetery on Rt. #136 in Freeport. Those who wish may leave a condolence for the family at www.brackettfuneralhome.com.
