
Bill attended Cardigan Mt. School in Canaan, NH, Swampscott High School, Swampscott, MA; University of MA Stockbridge School of Agriculture in Amherst, MA.
In 1957, Harold proudly joined the United States Army and served his country until 1962, stationed in US and Germany.
On May 23, 1964, Bill married Jacquelyn Coughlin Cushman and the couple resided in Phippsburg to raise their family.
Bill is the grandson of Nathan A. Cushman, founder of Sebasco Lodge (Sebasco Harbor Resort), Cushman Bakery, and Oakhurst Dairy.
Prior to moving to Maine in 1968, Bill worked for Cushman Bakery and Larry Durkee’s Welding Co. in MA. Bill spent 26 years as golf course superintendent of Sebasco Lodge. He was active in and served as president of the Maine Golf Course Superintendents Association. He was a past president of the Molokai Lions Club on Molokai, HI and an active member of the Waialua Congregational Church on Molokai, HI.
Bill and his wife, Jackie, live in Sebasco, ME and Kaunakakai, HI. His hobbies included walking his cat Poki, building his home in Hawaii, gardening, boating, target shooting, traveling, music and family gatherings.
Bill passed away following a long illness with his wife, son, and granddaughter, Livy at his side in his home in Sebasco.

Isabelle Cushman of Bowdoinham, ME and Olivia Cushman of Sebasco, ME, brother, Robert Cushman of Sebasco, ME and Ft. Myers, FL.
Besides his granddaughters, he leaves 6 nieces and 2 nephews and their spouses, several nieces and nephews in law and several great nieces and nephews.
Friday November 10th at 1:00 pm Memorial service at Phippsburg Congregational Church, Phippsburg ME, reception immediately following at his home in Sebasco.
Saturday Novenber 11th family burial at Brooklawn Cemetary, Portland ME
