LISBON

Lisbon police are investigating a crash that occurred on Route 196 at around 9 p.m. Sunday.

Police Chief Marc Hagan said a 2002 silver four-door Pontiac rolled over near the former bowling alley at 671 Lisbon St.

According to Hagan, witnesses told police the car was operating erratically before the crash and that they saw the female driver, the sole occupant, flee the scene after the crash and run up Canal Street toward Durham.

Hagan said the registered owner of the vehicle lives in Durham.

Police called in a K-9 unit from Topsham to conduct a track. The dog led police across the bridge into Durham, Hagan said.

Hagan said police have had an issue with cooperation from the family of the vehicle’s owner. No charges have been filed and the crash remains under investigation.
