SHAPLEIGH — Gloria Theresa (LeBlanc) Houde, of Shapleigh, Maine passed away peacefully, with beloved family by her side, on Nov. 10, 2017 following a brief illness.

Born in Dover, New Hampshire on May 16, 1953, the youngest child of Leo J. LeBlanc and Claire (Dagenais) LeBlanc, Gloria attended grade school in Dover, and graduated from Somersworth High School in 1971. She married Maurice Houde in 1971 and moved to Chesapeake, Virginia where he served in the Navy and she trained and worked as a pharmacy technician.

Gloria returned to New England in 1993, living in the Springvale/Shapleigh area. She was employed as a pharmacy technician, first at Walmart and later at York Hospital Walk-In Care in Berwick, Maine. Most recently, Gloria was employed by CVS pharmacy in Sanford, Maine. She was a well-respected and diligent member of the pharmacy team and loved by her customers and co-workers.

Gloria is survived by her daughter, Nicole (Houde) Baines and her husband Paul. Her three granddaughters, Jordan Riddick of York, Maine, Morgan Baines and Madison Baines, both of Chesapeake, Virginia, were the sunshine of her life. In addition she is survived by her 93-year-old mother, Claire LeBlanc of Rochester, New Hampshire, her brother, Richard LeBlanc and his wife, Priscilla of Rochester, New Hampshire, and her sisters, Diane Desrochers and her husband Richard of Acton, Maine, and Renee Wormell and her husband, William, of Northwood, New Hampshire. She was loved by her three nieces, Joyce Dunnells, Amie Cline, and Tina Newberry, and nephew, Richard LeBlanc, Jr. She will be missed by her aunt Doris Dagenais and her many cousins.

Family was especially important to Gloria. She was very devoted to her mother, visiting and taking her to lunch often. Gloria also took great joy in her beloved pets, kitties, Courtney and Jellybean and especially her sweet little Pappillion dog, Benji, who was often by her side and brought delightful smiles to many faces as she visited with people and did errands.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 71 Lowell St., Rochester, New Hampshire.

The H. J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 N. Main St., Rochester, NH is assisting with arrangements.
