FROM NOW THROUGH THE END OF THE YEAR, Georgetown’s Town Office Gallery is featuring the art of Kate MacGillivary. A native of Georgetown, MacGillivary returned from Colorado in 2011, having attended the Denver Botanic Gardens School of Botanical Art and Illustration. Colored pencil is MacGillivary’s chosen medium and her ability to layer the color achieves a glowing, three-dimensional realness to the work. Look for local plants, trees, mushrooms, flowers and even a spectacularly rendered stone wall in this show. The gallery is open during town office hours, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday — excluding the lunch hour from noon to 1 p.m. The town office is located at 50 Bay Point Road in Georgetown.
