Portland’s Megan Cunningham, left, Steep Falls’ Delaney Hesler and Portland’s Annabelle Brooks, Sierra Aponte-Clarke and Hadley Poirier, members of the Casco Bay Cruzers running group, recently took part in the USATF Junior Olympics regional meet in Smithfield, Rhode Island, where they placed fifth to qualify for the national meet in Tallahassee, Florida next month. In the girls’ 13-14 race, Helser (sixth) and Aponte-Clark (10th) qualified as individuals. Portland’s Alyssa Sigfridson (not pictured) qualified in the girls’ 11-12 age group by placing 26th.
