BRUNSWICK — Author June Vail will talk about her book, “The Passion of Perfection: Gertrude Hitz Burton’s Modern Victorian Life,” on Sunday, Dec. 3, from 1:30-3 p.m.

The biography chronicles the life of 19th century activist Gertrude Hitz Burton, who promoted sex education, marriage equality and voluntary motherhood. Vail is Gertrude’s greatgranddaughter. She will describe her process of bringing an ancestor to life on the page using extensive family archives, library collections, and web resources.
