CLAYTON LAKE TOWNSHIP (AP) — Police believe a medical issue could’ve preceded a fatal snowplow crash in Clayton Lake Township, Maine.

WAGM-TV reports that 51- year-old Cedric Pelletier of Sinclair died when his dump truck equipped with a plow and sander veered off the road and into a stream on Monday.

Police say Pelletier died at the scene from a head injury.

Police say that the accident is still under investigation but that it appears a medical issue prior to the crash may have contributed to Pelletier driving off the roadway and into the water. Clayton Lake west of the Allagash Wilderness Waterway, about 65 miles from Ashland.
