GORHAM— University of Southern Maine men’s track and field head coach Ryan Harkleroad announced this week that juniors Colin Jones, Jared Marshall and C.J. Moody, and senior and former Mt. Ararat High School standout Justin Pierce, have been named captains for the 2017-18 indoor track and field season.
The Huskies open their 2017-18 indoor campaign this Saturday at noon, hosting the USM Open I at the Costello Sports Complex.
Pierce received All-LEC and All-Alliance honors in the high jump and joined Marshall on the winning 4 x 400 relay. He was recognized by the LEC on three occasions last year as a member of the Relay of the Week.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
