SCARBOROUGH — Rebecca L. Aceto (Becky), 63, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2017 with her family at her side while at the Gosnell House in Scarborough. Becky fought a very courageous yearlong battle with Epithelioid Sarcoma.

Her family would like to express special thanks to the many folks at Massachusetts General Hospital – Boston, MA and especially those at Yawkey 7B and Lunder Floor 9.

Also, a very special thanks to the wonderful, caring staff at Gosnell Hospice House of Scarborough, ME.

She was born in Rockland, ME on June 21, 1954 the daughter of Eugene Estabrook and Marilyn Dudley.

Growing up in Rockland she attended and graduated from Rockland High School. In the spring of 1978 she met her husband Tommy Aceto and on September 15, 1979 they were married in Union, ME. They decided to make their home in Yarmouth, ME where they raised their two wonderful sons in a community they loved, making many friends.

Becky had that great Maine work ethic exhibited in her work outside the home and at home which she instilled in their two sons. She was a deeply caring and thoughtful person who never had an ill word toward or about anyone. She was direct, no-nonsense and tireless in her approach in all matters whether at work or in her personal life. There was no fluff and you always knew where you stood with her. Becky was a person of extraordinary talents being a gifted painter, expert gardener, and possessed a real talent for home décor and interior renovation. Tom and Becky were a great complement to each other. Tom was the rough carpenter and Becky was definitely the “finish” carpenter in virtually all aspects of their lives together.

She worked in a variety of retail/customer service positions through much of her adult life starting with Senter- Crane Company in Rockland, ME up to the last 12 years at LL Bean of Freeport, in both the retail store and home store. She was totally dedicated and loyal in all her work experiences and she was highly regarded by those she worked for and with, as well as the many customers she went out of her way often to help.

Becky had many interests; she loved music and played guitar at a young age. Becky loved to cook and was never afraid to experiment with new recipes which were never disappointing. She loved being around her family and although not a world traveler enjoyed New England the most, from its coasts to its lakes and mountains. Animals were a favorite of hers, dogs especially. She could identify virtually any bird and had a special affinity toward Esther the Pig as her Facebook friends and LL Bean co-workers would attest.

She loved to paint and do crafts and for many years she and her mother displayed their great talents at the Yarmouth Clam Festival Crafts Show. She would often get orders from many people to custom produce a certain item, be it a lampshade or basket, which were two of her specialties. Becky had a passion for gardening and was always planting something. She could identify any and all plants and had a knack for nurturing them even in the harshest of environments. She enjoyed going on long doggie walks with her dear friend Deb Wheeler and would often spin a wreath from vines and twigs on the trails she walked. In more recent years both Tommy and Becky developed a love for bicycling and kayaking. They often biked 20 to 30 miles together and were hooked forever. Together they traveled to Acadia National Park frequently and enjoyed hiking the trails, climbing many of its mountain and riding their bikes on the beautiful Carriage Trails.

Becky is survived by her husband of 38 years Tommy C. Aceto, their sons Anthony E. Aceto and his wife Betsy, their son Charlie of Brooklyn, NY; Jonathan C. Aceto and his wife Wendy, their son Kaden of Duxbury, VT; sisters Lucinda Leonard and her husband Rick of Rockland, ME and Andrea Spokas and her husband Neil of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents.

The family would like to invite you to visiting hours on Thursday December 14 th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm followed by a Celebration Of Life Service at 7:00pm at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth ME 207-846- 4011.
